50th ANNIVERSARY WALKATHON!

2019 will mark our 50th Walkathon. Please contact Andrea Steis at asteis@clts.ca if you would like more information on this milestone or would like to help by donating or volunteering.

IN our  COMMUNITY

WE WALK...

The annual Walkathon for the Association was started in 1969 to raise funds to build a workshop in Haileybury.  Since that time, the Association has maintained the Walkathon as its sole fundraising initiative and the funds raised over the years have enabled us to introduce and maintain meaningful programs/supplies to enrich the lives of over 200 individuals in our community.

Held on the first Saturday in May each year, with the kick off breakfast on the Friday, the walk generates interest and enthusiasm from all corners of South Timiskaming.  Businesses and personalities challenge each other for pledges, making the Walkathon a truly community event.

In addition to the people who sponsor and the people who walk, as well as the many volunteers comprised of businesses, groups and individuals, plan and take part on the day of the walk.

The support for the 20 kilometre walk from New Liskeard to Cobalt

is indicative of the generosity and backing that the Association

has received over the years and is part of what makes

our community such a great place to live.
